March 2010

Jonas got a birthday package from his Grandpa & Grandma Benson:

Gregg turned 33!
We had a steak dinner at home that night and I made his favorite yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Mmmmm. I'd love to have a piece of that right now. The cake I mean. Though Gregg looks very delicious, too. We also went to a movie -- I think it was Avatar. Gregg had seen it but wanted to see it again. We both loved it.

I apologize in advance for the following brag fest:
I made this wallet for my sister for her birthday. I'm pretty proud of it. I'm a self taught sewer, so anytime I actually finish a project, and it turns out at least somewhat decent, I'm very happy. If anyone is interested, I bought the pattern from jennalou.com.

On just some random day, I was blow drying my hair while the boys were hanging out in my room. Mack came in and helped himself to a band-aid. I could see that neither he nor Jonas were hurt, so I didn't think much of it, and continued with the hair drying (which takes way too long these days - I need a haircut). After I finished with my hair, Mack came running in saying, "Look, mommy, I fixed it. All better," and led me to the other side of our bedroom to show me this:
This gash had been in the wall since we moved in and we just hadn't got around to patching it up. To Mack's future wife: I promise to try to teach Mack some more advanced home improvement techniques.

Shel, that is so funny. I really did LOL and you know how I hate to type LOL! ha ha. Mack is such a funny guy!
That cake is awesome. I think we love the same things because a steak dinner and yellow cake with chocolate frosting is exactly what I would consider the perfect birthday dinner!
By the way, my kids also use up my bandaids, but not nearly as cute. If i yell at them to go to bed and it hurts their feelings, they cry and say "get me a bandaid" I guess bandaids make them feel better. and don't call child protective services, I don't yell every night. More like ever other night.

yellow cake with chocolate frosting sounds soooo GOOD right now. Good job on the wallet. That is incredible. I think I might check out that website and try to make one for myself. My check book is like 8 years old and its just those free ones that wells fargo gives you when you open an acct. SAD :( Mack is quite the handyman! You have such adorable boys.

That cake looks divine right now! YUM!!! I'm really impressed with your sewing skills Shell. Man, I thought this far into my marriage I'd be a much better homemaker... sewing, playing the piano, cooking, etc.... DANG, still NOT there!! :) You are awesome and your boys are so cute! All 3 of them ;) Happy bday to Greggers and JoJO. Glad you got to go out on a date! :)
