"Did you get a haircut?"

"No, I got 'em all cut."

(The bath tub marker mess in the background is slightly embarrassing, but not enough for me to not post these.)

Laundry detergent scoops make for fun bath toys.

I love those ears.

Silly boy.

Buh-bye curls. Sad.

I wasn't going to give Jonas his first haircut until he turned 1, but it was long enough in the front to start hanging in his eyes. It was sort of driving me nuts. Also, yesterday we went to a furniture store and the salesman called him a girl. Normally the gender mix-up doesn't bother me, I guess because it doesn't usually happen after they're about a month old or so, but yesterday, it did a little bit. So we broke out the clippers last night. I always have plans to leave it a bit longer on top, but by the end, they are crying so hard that I just give up and buzz it.

Here are a few things I wanted to put in the last post, but forgot about.

Jonas:
-Has started consistently sleeping through the night! He'll wake up sometimes and cry for about 30 seconds or so, but then goes right back to sleep. It has been so nice for me to get a 5-6 hour block of uninterrupted sleep.
-Says "Dada" whenever Gregg comes home. I'm sure I mentioned this in another post already, but he absolutely loves his Daddy.
-Doesn't say "bye-bye" yet, but will wave with his hand if you say it to him.
-Tries really hard to say "uh-oh," but can only manage to get out "uh."
-Learned to clap. We always accompany our clapping with a "YEA!" However, he can only manage "AAAA!" right now.
-Will say "no, no, no" and shake his head from side to side.
-Loves to be read to. The other night I took him up to his room for bed and asked him, "Should we read a book?" and he looked right to where his books are and was happy and excited.
-Is getting to the stage where he doesn't want to be fed baby food anymore. He loves to feed himself, and is just learning how to get a drink from his sippy cup by himself. Bring on the messiness.

Mack:
-He's absolutely loving Legos right now. He will carry around a paper with pictures of Legos from one of the Lego sets all day. Yesterday he insisted on carrying it into the store with us. He loves to ask me to build one of the sets, just to be destroyed 2 minutes later.
-He has found a new love in Curious George. We just started recording it a few days ago, and he's watched those few episodes at least three times each. He can't seem to get enough. I think we need to invest in some Curious George books.
-He is becoming more and more independent. He surprised me a few weeks ago when he came walking into the room with a cup of water. He had retrieved a cup from the dishwasher (luckily the dishes were clean) and filled it up with water from the fridge dispenser. He'll frequently grab a snack from the pantry when he wants one, and can get his own juice cup from the fridge, too. Last week I came downstairs and he was eating an ice cream sandwich from the freezer that he had helped himself to. It was pretty funny.
-Mack absolutely loves to play with his little brother, but doesn't quite understand how to do so softly. Most of the time I just try to get them to play separately because I just can't handle the cycle of 'Mack pushes-Jonas cries-Mommy consoles' anymore.

Gregg and I say almost every day how excited we are for them to be a little older. What can I say? Neither of us are big fans of the baby stage. We sure love them though.

How could we not?

Ok, he looks like Mack again. That long hair was tripping me out the other day. But now I don't recognize Jonas!

They are such cuties! And very good artists I must say. Be glad that it was marker in the background instead of mold.
I love hearing about the stages that they are in.

Cute little boys with cute little hair cuts. Did you have to use straight jackets like we use to have to use on Jamis and Trev? They HATED hair cut time. Loved looking at pics of the house too!!! It's beautiful! One day we'll actually get down there! Love you guys!

I love the haircuts! Layla still gets called a boy all the time, even if she is dressed in pink from head to toe! I love hearing what they are doing! They are both getting so big!

I'm feeling the same way with the older sibling pushing younger sibling mommy consoling thing. It's super annoying!
